2018 March for Science

2018 March for Science

We've rallied.  Now it's time to push our legislators to adopt our climate policy solutions. On Monday, April 23rd, we need to flood the statehouse with calls and demand that our legislators take the meaningful action that we so desperately need.

"Last weekend, I participated in the 2018 March for Science. Now I'm calling to ask you to support and pass the following science-based bills:  S.2302: An Act for a Clean Energy Future and H.2913: An Act relative to environmental justice and toxics reduction in the Commonwealth.  We need these bills because:

  • S.2302 helps build our clean energy economy by increasing how much renewable energy our utilities must purchase every year (the Renewable Energy Portfolio standard)

  • S.2302 helps break our overreliance on fossil fuels and curb our emissions by banning taxpayer subsidies for new fossil fuel infrastructure.

  • H.2903 promotes environmental justice and eliminate disparities by forcing government agencies to implement Article 97 of the MA constitution.

"However the legislature chooses to address our energy needs this year, these policies have to be included. Please talk to House leadership about supporting these policies."

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
